King Charles’ state visit to Paris postponed FMTNews FMTWorld
Uncollected garbage lie near Paris’ Eiffel Tower as strikes continue, forcing the delay of King Charles’ first state visit.
PARIS: King Charles’ state visit to France has been delayed after trade unions called for another day of nationwide strikes and street protests during his stay, the French presidency said today. King Charles had been due to make his first state visit as monarch to France, beginning a three-day trip on Sunday.
“Given the announcement yesterday of another day of national protest against the pension reform on Tuesday, King Charles’ visit, initially scheduled for March 26-29, will be postponed,” the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
