Charles, who is being treated for cancer, spoke to all those who are 'missing their mum' on this day
King Charles has posted a tribute to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in a heartbreaking message on Mother’s Day. On the official Royal Family Instagram page the message highlighted mothers and gave comfort to anyone missing their mum.
It said: “Wishing all Mothers, and those who are missing their Mums today, a peaceful Mothering Sunday. “ It was posted with a beautiful black and white picture of Charles at a polo match kissing his mum’s hand. Followers rushed to speak of their thoughts with jpitman saying: “I bet more than ever he HRH misses her right now. Doesn’t matter how old you are, when you are ill you want your mum.” mabelandgeorge said: “We miss her too.”

The King has postponed all public-facing engagements while he continues his treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, but he has been carrying out audiences and desk duties behind Palace walls.
