King Charles III and Prince William have made a surprise appearance in London today, greeting mourners waiting in the queue to pass the Queen's coffin as she lies in state at Westminster Hall.
BBC News reports that the King spoke to a number of those who have joined the day-long queue, telling one woman: "I hope you're not too frozen." In line for the Queen's lying in state, one lady offered Charles condolences as he shook her hand, and another shouted: "I can't believe this."
