From 2-0 down, Killie bagged five goals in 18 minutes to beat St Mirren.
Derek McInnes praised his Kilmarnock side's 'grown up' performance as they produced a stunning comeback to net five times in 18 second half minutes and strengthen their European hopes with a 5-2 win over St Mirren.
Killie started the second half better but there was no sign of the mayhem about to ensue. The ball got rolling when Kyle Vassell bundled home just after the hour mark with Danny Armstrong equalising four minutes later from the spot. The win takes Kilmarnock above their opponents in the table and all but secures top six football with a delighted McInnes saying: "It was big game, you saw the crowd and that was recognition of the season both clubs have had. It felt like a proper cup tie and we were second best for the opening half an hour.
"Two goals down at home, the crowd getting a bit antsy, everyone's disappointed and frustrated with what was going on in the first half, and the players stood up and met the responsibility."
