Kids 5 to 11 Are Now Eligible to Get Pfizer's COVID-19 Vaccine:
Kids aged 5 to 11 are now eligible to get the COVID-19. Both the FDA and the CDC have approved the vaccine for emergency use, and theUp until now, the COVID-19 vaccine was available to everyone aged 12 and up in America. The vaccine has full FDA approval for everyone older than 16 and emergency FDA approval for those aged 5 to 15.In late September, Pfizer and BioNTech revealed the first results from the COVID-19 trials in kids aged 5 to 11.
“Over the past nine months, hundreds of millions of people ages 12 and older from around the world have received our COVID-19 vaccine. We are eager to extend the protection afforded by the vaccine to this younger population, subject to regulatory authorization, especially as we track the spread of the Delta variant and the substantial threat it poses to children,” Albert Bourla, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, said in aat the time.
