The dead man, whose name still has not been released, was killed June 16, 2021, by agents who stormed an apartment on Lakeview Avenue in Leonia.

The victim’s father, identified only as “W.S.,” began receiving calls from different cell phone numbers demanding “$500,000 for the return of his son,” Zajac wrote in the complaint. “ explained that he owed a ‘Mexican’ male $180,000 for a quantity of drugs that he never received and that he believed had either been stolen or that had been recovered by the police,” the complaint states.

FBI agents then focused their surveillance on the woman’s home on Lakeview Avenue, according to the complaint. On June 16, 2021, the agents obtained a search warrant that allowed them to enter the apartment, the complaint states.
