Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov met with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Seri Perdana on Monday, discussing topics such as Islamic affairs, the development of the Muslim community, and the Palestinian situation. The meeting also included figures like Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim, and American human rights activist Khaled A. Beydoun.

PUTRAJAYA: Former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday .

They had a nearly hour-long meeting which touched on various issues, including Islamic affairs, the development of the ummah and the Palestinian situation, followed by a dinner reception thereafter. Also present were Weststar Group managing director Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, American human rights activist and law professor Khaled A. Beydoun, and Palestinian Olympian, swimmer Yazan Al Bawwab.

"I see the importance of personalities like Khabib, Khaled, and Yazan being an inspiration, showing that a good Muslim not only excels professionally but also embodies values of compassion and mercy, especially when confronting Islamophobia,” Anwar said.The 36-year-old Khabib, who holds an undefeated UFC lightweight record of 29-0, retired in 2021 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2022.
