Anthony Canty said he couldn't believe the big winSpeaking to Good Morning Britain today, father-of-two Anthony said he had been travelling to work when he checked his lotto numbers.
And he was delighted to see he won £100,000 and called his partner Katie Sullivan, 32, to share the news.He said: "She phoned me back and said no Anthony, you've won £1million."A girl in the office called me thinking I was lying.Anthony said he was now hoping to treat his two daughters aged eight and five to a trip to Disney World in Florida once the coronavirus lockdown was over.
The father-of-two has worked throughout lockdown as an engineer, maintaining the water quality for hospitals and care homes in central London.Anthony had been on the bus home from Witham train station to Maldon one evening in April when a cop next to him collapsed.The dad immediately sprang into action, ringing the bell to stop the bus while giving the officer CPR with the help of the 999 operator and first aid training he had at work.
Mr Canty's win is the 100th high-tier National Lottery prize, classed as a win of £50,000 or more, to be paid out since lockdown started.
