SOME key worker parents were told on Sunday night to keep their children at home amid fears schools would be over-run on Monday.
There are so many adults falling into the category that heads have warned schools may be forced to close completely. Hundreds of schools contacted parents over the weekend asking them to consider keeping their kids at homecould continue sending their kids to school, to ease the childcare burden. But on Sunday Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said: “If your work is not critical in the response to coronavirus, then please keep your child at home.“We will be closely monitoring what is happening in schools and will ensure they get the support they need in the weeks and months ahead.”
