Lancaster Police say they have closed roads around the A683 Bay Gateway junction with Morecambe Road following a road traffic collision.
The roads affected are experiencing a build-up of traffic and officers say they fear the roads there may be closed for some time. The incident appears to have occurred close to the McDonald's drive-thru restaurant. According to information supplied by the Inrix live traffic and travel database, the A683 in both directions is closed due to an accident, and the closures stretch from the A589 Morecambe Road for Lancaster to the B5273 Mellishaw Lane for Morecambe – a distance of about a kilometre. They say the road has been closed since the early hours of Saturday morning.We will bring you up to date with more information as soon as we receive it.
