Braehead Early Years Centre, in Ayr’s Gould Street, was placed under the microscope during an unannounced inspection by the Care Inspectorate.
And the care scrutiny body was pleased with the provision on show, grading the setting ‘good’ across four quality indicators.

In addition, a “strong management team” had “high aspirations” for children, and their families, which was promoted by a “shared vision.”
An extract from the Care Inspectorate said: “Children experienced warm and caring interactions to support their wellbeing. Most staff were proactive in supporting children with comfort and reassurance when needed, which contributed to children feeling secure in their experiences. Since the last inspection, staff had accessed “updated training” in child protection and those who spoke to the Care Inspectorate were “confident in their role” in safeguarding children. In addition, written personal planning information was “in place” and children experienced “improved mealtimes.”
