Derek McInnes revealed a hamstring injury in the warm-up prevented him from throwing Kevin van Veen on against Aberdeen.

Killie produced a disappointing display against the Dons and could have no complaints with the outcome. In front of a big travelling support, they were deservedly beaten, despite Danny Armstrong’s goal before half-time that got them back in the tie. McInnes tried everything from the bench to salvage it but couldn’t use his big January signing, Van Veen.
