Far too much pressure is on Jameis Winston to carry the team with his passing.It started in training camp. The warning signs were there, especially in the two-day scrimmages with Minnesota. The first day, the offense looked disorganized. They had six presnap penalties.
Last season, the Browns won games with four different quarterbacks. They kept changing offenses. The defense delivered clutch plays. Hopkins was an elite kicker. I’ll never understand why the Browns kept playing Mayfield in 2021 when it was clear he had suffered a significant injury to his non-throwing shoulder early in the season. He needed surgery after the season. If it was purely Stefanski’s decision, then the front office should have stepped in and replaced Mayfield with Case Keenum.
