In his race recap, he also shared a bit of his running journey. “I used to not run and felt terrible all the time but for the past few years I’ve been running and it’s enhanced everything in my life—especially my creative spirit,” he said., he said, “I don’t think there’s anything else in my life that I have to force myself to do to feel such an incredible euphoria on the other end of it.”
Of course, as a musician, Morby carefully curated his playlist for the race, and he shared what he spent his 13.1 miles listening to: Lou Reed’s “Coney Island Baby” to kick things off, mixed in with some Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Patti Smith along the route.“I knew I wanted to end the race with “Burning” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs,” he wrote.
