Marte is Lovullo's starting second baseman back home in the Valley and will be the starting second baseman for the NL in the All-Star Game.
Marte is in the midst of one of the best seasons of his career, as the 30-year-old is slashing .292/.362/.877 with 19 home runs and 57 runs batted in as MLB hits its midsummer break. The city of Phoenix is home to four major professional sports league teams; The NFL's Arizona Cardinals, NBA's Phoenix Suns, WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks.
