Nadene Alford, who has worked for Kerr County for almost four decades, will be the interim county clerk.
Kerr County officials appointed an interim county clerk on Monday, filling a vacancy created when the previous clerk resigned last week just ahead of Saturday's election. Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly swore in Nadene Alford , who has been serving as chief deputy of the county tax assessor's office, to fill the reminder of Ian Collum 's term, which expires at the end of the year. Collum submitted his resignation last week, citing health issues, according to the county.

'I think we could not be in better hands than hers at this point,' Kelly said. In Texas, the county clerk's office keeps track of public records, issues marriage licenses and collects fines. The county clerk also serves as Kerr County's election administrator.
