Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam Zulkapli Mohamed berkata perkara itu tertakluk kepada penerimaan pihak berkuasa masing-masing.
Sejak 2018, kerajaan memperuntuk cuti tanpa rekod sempena perayaan Deepavali selama sehari iaitu pada hari berikutnya kepada pegawai perkhidmatan awam yang menganut agama Hindu.
Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam Zulkapli Mohamed, berkata perkara itu tertakluk kepada penerimaan oleh pihak berkuasa masing-masing. “Namun begitu, kerajaan pada 3 Nov telah bersetuju untuk memberi pengecualian bagi tahun 2023,” katanya dalam surat edaran disiarkan di portal Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam .
