Kentwood High School in Covington was put on lockdown and a student was detained for using a gun to threaten another student Wednesday morning.

"Well, I assumed the worst, like this is an actual school shooter," James Armstrong, a freshman at Kentwood HS, said. "Two girls started fighting, and one of them had a gun, and like they were out in the woods for some reason, and then like once everybody found out, they put us into lockdown and tried to find the girls."
"Both students from the incident returned to campus," Covington Police Chief Adam Easterbrook said. "One's been detained, the other one's obviously cooperating with us, the school's lifted the lockdown, and we're still investigating."near the school for weapons. Students also told KOMO News at least one class had their bags searched for possible weapons. As of Wednesday afternoon, no weapons have been found in the area.
