A proxy war is brewing in the upcoming Kentucky Senate race between Senator Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) camp and the Make America Great Again ( MAGA ) movement, according to Kentucky businessman and potential Senate Republican candidate Nate Morris. Morris, speaking to Breitbart News, said that McConnell's decision not to seek reelection will ignite a battle to diminish the influence of McConnell's establishment wing in the U.S. Senate.
Morris believes this race will be a proxy war between McConnell's interests, represented by figures like Andy Barr and Daniel Cameron, and the MAGA movement. He sees the MAGA movement and its chosen candidate as the only force capable of liberating Kentucky from what he perceives as the suffocating grip of the Mitch McConnell machine. Morris criticizes McConnell's camp for clinging to an outdated worldview that prioritizes America's role as the world's policeman. He argues that instead of focusing on global interventions and foreign aid, the priority should be improving the lives of Kentuckians and Americans. Morris also expressed his approval of former President Trump's efforts to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia, calling the ongoing conflict a sham and condemning the billions of dollars in aid sent to Ukraine.
