A Kentucky man wasn’t here for the festivities planned to “celebrate him,” due to his anxiety disorder.
The former employee Gravity Diagnostics was fired following the anxiety-filled birthday party thrown against his request. He sued and won in Kenton County Circuit Court, based in Northern Kentucky. Now the employer owes him $450,000,Court documents indicate the employee informed the office manager he didn’t want a birthday party due to his anxiety disorder and the fear of being the center of attention giving him panic attacks.
The employee was called into a meeting with the office manager the following day and was confronted about his reaction to the party. He had another panic attack, and requested the confrontation between he and the office manager end, according to the court documents.
