Deborah Knapp and Sue Calberg will continue with the CBS station in San Antonio.1:25 PM CDT May 28, 2024SAN ANTONIO — KENS 5 has announced veteran news anchor Deborah Knapp and reporter Sue Calberg have extended their contracts with the San Antonio station. Knapp has been with the CBS station for 37 years and Calberg for 22 years.

“I’m thrilled to continue serving the people of San Antonio,” said Knapp. “This is the city I grew up in and the station I’ve worked at most of my adult life. I am so fortunate to work with a wonderfully talented team I love and respect. Management at KENS 5 let me know I’m welcome to stay as long as I’d like and in today’s world, that’s a blessing.”

Calberg grew up on the city’s east side and has worked as a journalist in her hometown for the past 44 years. Knapp, a graduate of MacArthur High School, grew up on the northeast side and has been inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame. She serves as Treasurer on the Alamo Colleges Foundation Board and Chairs Las Misiones which restores and preserves our historic San Antonio Missions.
