I think we all need to understand as a group about how we’ve gotten to this point. The FDA has a position that food coloring like 40 are safe for a kid’s ingestion. Do both of you stand behind that Dr. Califf?” Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) said during the hearing. Jim Jones, the FDA's deputy commissioner for human foods responded to Tuberville that the FDA has not reviewed the safety of Red 40 in over a decade. Robert F.
