A Kendall County man is sentenced to life in prison following a shootout with Boerne police and sheriff’s deputies nearly two years ago.
Park Palmore, 50, pleaded guilty Thursday, March 31, to attempted capital murder of a peace officer and aggravated assault of a public servant, according to officials.. Palmore was staying at a Boerne hotel when he led police and sheriff’s deputies on a chase through the city and onto Interstate 10 toward Comfort.
Palmore reportedly stopped his vehicle on the highway, near exit 529, and got out while armed with a shotgun. Authorities said he fired shots toward Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputy Senger, striking him in the arm and then pointed his shotgun at another Boerne police officer.Law enforcement returned fire and shot Palmore multiple times. Senger was treated for his injury at the scene and Palmore was airlifted to the Brooke Army Medical Center for treatment.
On Thursday, the state, represented by Special Victims Prosecutor Nick Socias, presented testimony from Kendall County Probation Officer Mario Paredes, Senger and Kendall County Sheriff Al Auxier.Socias also mentioned that Palmore has an extensive criminal record, dating back to 1988 with multiple felony convictions and crimes of violence. He will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years in confinement.
