BOERNE — Kendall County commissioners on Monday approved a budget for the coming fiscal year that includes a big pay bump for county elected officials — including themselves. Following criticism from residents during the public hearing portion of Monday's meeting, commissioners engaged in an often-contentious debate amongst themselves over the proposed pay hikes, with two commissioners raising the possibility of delaying the vote to revise the budget.
For Hill Country, eclipse's economic impact was good, not great The newly approved budget calls for one-time pay raises of more than 20% for some members of the commissioners court, along with raises of more than 10% for some other elected officials. The new budget includes these raises for members of the commissioners court: Precinct 1 Commissioner Christina Bergmann's salary increases by $17,839, or 23%, from $79,580 to $97,419.
In Boerne, all hearts belong to a Little League baseball team Carpenter said he was aware of the proposed raises, but said there should have been more discussion prior to Monday's hearing. He said he objected to commissioners being paid more based on their time in office.
