'Every year we go bigger and better': Kendal Calling founders on going from tiny tent to Cumbria's biggest music festival
As the line-up for one of Cumbria's biggest music festivals is set to be released, we spoke to one of the organisers about Kendal Calling and how much it has grown over the years.
Now, people will only have to wait a few more hours to see who will be performing at the 2023 event. The full lineup will be announced at 8am on Wednesday . "It was a fantastic show and people started saying, 'when are you announcing next year's line up' - and we hadn't even thought about that. We thought, 'we might be on to something here, let's do that again,' - it was a lot of fun."
Since the festival first started it has grown in size to welcome 35,000 people each year. Andy is extremely excited about the upcoming year. "We live in an absolutely wonderful part of the world but it is often overlooked by touring artists. So it's quite nice to have a festival where we don't have to travel all the time. We have a beautiful backdrop and it would be such a shame not to put a stage in front of them.""It is obviously a big part of it, but it's a four-day festival you need to have some downtime from that. We're always on the lookout for new things.
