The Texas attorney general said the program could lead to ineligible voters attempting to register.

Following through on his Labor Day threat, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the Bexar County Commissioners Court after it approved a program to mail voter registration applications en masse to residents. Paxton is asking a Bexar County district court to temporarily block the county from implementing the program.

Flouting Paxton threat, Bexar County commissioners hire firm to register voters “Counties have to have specific authority to do what they do, and in this case, we don't believe they have specific authority, and even if they did, they didn't follow the transparent process that the voters demand in the competitive bidding process,” Paxton said about the suit on conservative radio program The Chris Salcedo Show on Wednesday morning.
