Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is notably absent from a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general who called for a peaceful transfer of power.

Ahead of Election Day , the National Association of Attorneys General released a statement condemning any potential acts of violence associated with the results of this year’s high-stakes presidential election. In the letter, 51 attorneys general — led by those in Ohio , Oregon , Connecticut and Kansas — vowed to use their authority to enforce the law and take action against any 'illegal acts that threaten' the democratic process.

So why is he still spending millions? Paxton, along with Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, did not participate in the statement. His office has not responded to a request for comment on the reason for this decision. The third-term Republican has taken an active role in promoting unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud alongside former President Donald Trump.
