Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have signed a deal with Lifetime to produce two movies for the cable network's 'Ripped From the Headlines' true-crime franchise.

"Kelly and Mark have been important voices in popular culture for the past twenty years and we are so incredibly pleased to have them become a part of the Lifetime family," said A+E Networks group president Paul Buccieri."We look forward to seeing their creative vision brought to life through these projects."
Specific projects under the deal will be announced later, with both films currently slated to air in 2021. The Lifetime deal represents another foray into true crime for Milojo, which is also producing an unscripted series called"As longtime true crime fans, there is nothing more thrilling than tuning into a Lifetime original movie," said Ripa and Consuelos.
Lifetime has made a serious push into the true crime space in recent years, with both docuseries likeThe deal with Ripa and Consuelos follows pacts Lifetime has made with Tia Mowry, who will star in and produce three holiday movies, and Leslie Greif's Big Dreams Entertainment, which inked a hefty 10-film deal with the cabler late last year.
Ripa and Consuelos will executive produce the two movies with Albert Bianchini. Michael Halpern is director of development for Milojo Productions.
