The Tabi was first introduced in 1989, meaning it celebrates its 35th birthday this year. The first-ever Tabi style was an ankle boot, and the split-toe design was immediately polarizing amongst fashion fans. In the years since, the Tabi has become an icon in its own right, and Palmer isn't the only star who has joined the fan club. Dua Lipa wore a pump-style Tabi with thick white socks in late 2023, and Cardi B is a noted fan of the style, too.
