Tim Tszyu was initially scheduled to headline the show, defending his WBO junior middleweight title against Keith Thurman on March 30. However, according toTszyu will defend his title against Sebastian Fundora at the main event in Las Vegas.
Thurman hasn’t fought in two years, and his best days were in the welterweight division. At 35 years old, Thurman may have been outclassed by the hungry 29-year-old, second-generation star. Fundora, 26, is a walking matchup problem for everyone in the weight region. Per long-time boxing journalist Dan Rafael, Bohachuk will remain on the card and fight an as-yet-announced replacement for Fundora. Fundora carries a 20-1-1 record, impressive length, and good punching accuracy.
Despite the scorecards, Fundora appeared to be in control, but he has tended to get caught with big power shots while fighting on the inside, where he cannot use his length.
