The Labour leader has faced pressure to answer whether or not his party plans to raise any taxes
Lord David Cameron has branded Rishi Sunak staffer Craig Williams' decision to place a bet on the election as 'foolish'. The foreign secretary confirmed Mr Williams was being investigated by the Gambling Commission. He said he would not comment any further on the incident while the investigation was ongoing, but stressed Mr Williams would face the consequences of his actions.
Craig WIlliams and Rishi Sunak 'I've been contacted by a journalist about Gambling Commission inquiries into one of my accounts and thought it best to be totally transparent,' he wrote on X/Twitter. 'I put a flutter on the general election some weeks ago. This has resulted in some routine inquiries and I confirm I will fully cooperate with these. 'I don't want to be a distraction from the campaign, I should have thought through how it looked.
