PETALING JAYA: Kedah police have opened an investigation paper into a video that is allegedly insulting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Senior Asst Commissioner Alzafny Ahmad said that the report was lodged by a Pendang Umno division committee member on Tuesday ."The complainant is a Pendang Umno division committee member who said he had viewed a video on the TikTok account ‘Projek Papa’ that contained elements insulting the Prime Minister of Malaysia," said SAC Alzafny.
He added that the complainant said that the video contained seditious elements that could sow fear and discord among the people. “The case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988," said SAC Alzafny in a statement on Wednesday that was reported by Astro Awani.
The video in question likely refers to one in which former Umno Youth leader Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris could be seen praising caretaker Kedah mentri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as a"hero" and referring to Anwar's sodomy allegations.
