Former prime minister Paul Keating gave a “disgusting, immoral” interview to the National Press Club defending China’s aggressive regime, says Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“The man who I think is our most shameless and shameful apologist for China’s dictatorship,” he said.
“If anyone asked him about China’s aggression, he always had an excuse or a claim that the West was just as bad or worse. “And what really shocked me, he played that same trick to even defend China putting a million Muslim Uyghurs into concentration camps to destroy their cultural identity. “Democracies around the world are frightened that this Chinese dictatorship is bent on war and domination.”

Keating claims China has never wanted to attack us and never will.' Ms Markson said Mr Keating’s performance today reminds us why he’s the “strongest orator of our time” – but on China, he was “utterly inconsistent, completely hypocritical and showed questionable logic”. “And he deliberately ignored China's egregious human rights atrocities, its coercive conduct and its aggressive military build-up – the very actions that have forced Australia into a higher embrace with the United States and Britain.”
