“With this movie, I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and creates the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time, telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feel both relatable and relevant to today’s audiences, said Roberts in a statement. Producers on the reboot are Robert Kulzer of Constantin, James Harris of Tea Shop Productions , and Hartley Gorenstein . Constantin CEO Martin Moszkowicz is executive producing with Victor Hadida while Alex Zhang is co-executive producing. Dylan Tarason of Constantin is co-producing. Alex Westmore and Colin Scully of Constantin Film are overseeing the project. Sony’s Screen Gems division is planning on releasing the movie theatrically sometime in 2021. Constantin will distribute the movie in German speaking territories while Elevation will release in Canada and Metropolitan in France.Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No TalesAmell is coming off appearing in Netflix’sUmbrella Academy.
