announced the release date of her long-awaited fifth album on Wednesday , with a little help from Amazon's Alexa.

In a clip posted to Twitter by a fan page, the digital assistant can be heard saying,"Katy asked me to let you know that her new album will be released on August 14." Preceded by lead single"Daisies," which is set to drop Friday , the studio set will be the pop star's first full-length LP in over three years, serving as a follow-up to 2017'sjudge released a string of well-received standalone singles throughout 2019, including"Never Really Over" -- which peaked at No. 15 on the Hot 100 last summer -- as well as"Small Talk,""Harleys in Hawaii" and"Never Worn White.
