Katie Price left Loose Women viewers stunned, when she unexpectedly took a swipe at Janet Street Porter , accusing her of having been in prison.
Back in 2017, the Loose Women panel were engaged in a heated debate about HMP Berwyn in Wrexham, a facility where prisoners have access to tennis courts, televisions and computers.Described by Governor Russ Trent as the "Oxford University of prisons", HMP Berwyn opened later that year. Inmates are housed in "rooms" rather than "cells", with phones provided next to their beds for personal calls.
Stacey Solomon, 34, and Katie argued that it's unacceptable for criminals to enjoy such a "good life", while Janet, 77, advocated for the reintegration of prisoners into society. Katie suddenly challenged Janet: "Haven't you been in prison? " To which Janet calmly responded: "I haven't been in prison, I've been in a police cell."
She continued: "If someone has been convicted of a crime, they need to be rehabilitated so they don't do it again. They need to learn to read, write and integrate into society. We're dealing with human beings, not dogs."
