Katie Holmes opened up about how she's staying busy now that her daughter Suri Cruise is off to college in a new interview with 'Town & Country' magazine. The 'Dawson's Creek' alum revealed that she's taken up a bunch of new hobbies now that she's an empty nester.

In the feature, which was published on Tuesday, August 12, the actress admitted that she was trying to distract herself with a range of new classes and activities, including dance classes, learning to paint, and joining a book club. “I love a dance studio because every time you enter, you’re starting from the beginning,” she told the publication, calling the practice “a good, meditative way to approach the day.
The notoriously private actress stayed mum on her 18-year-old daughter’s plans for college–the rumor is that the teen is planning to follow in her mom’s footsteps by getting into fashion or acting–but she did open up about the mixed emotions she’s feeling as Suri pursues her own path.“I’m proud of my daughter,” she told the publication. “Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.
“I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that,” she added.
