The Princess of Wales underwent surgery earlier this year Kate Middleton will have her first major public engagement a little later than most expected after undergoing abdominal surgery. In a surprise announcement at the time, the Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic for the planned surgery in January. It went without a hitch, Kensington Palace said, but her vanishing act from public view has ignited feverish speculation – and conspiracies – about her health.
Now the British Army has revealed the duchess will attend the Trooping of the Colour on June 8 on the Horse Guards Parade in London. Trooping the Colour is a ceremony that honours the official birthday of the monarch. ‘Trooping the Colour reviewed by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales is identical to Trooping the Colour reviewed by His Majesty The King, with the exception that some additional mounted officers ride when His Majesty The King is present,’ the event page reads.
