After Princess Kate shared she’s making good progress with her cancer treatment, she made her first public appearance since announcing the diagnosis by stepping out for Trooping the Colour. NBC’s Kelly Cobiella reports for TODAY and special royal correspondent Katie Nicholl joins with more.
Some star-studded names congratulated Team Great Britain on their performance in the 2024 Olympics — including Catherine, the Princess of Wales. Kate made an appearance alongside her husband Prince William in a video posted to their joint Instagram account, @princeandprincessofwales. 'From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,' Kate said, wearing a black-and-white striped shirt.
'Thank you Great Britain, on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife,' he said, holding up peace signs before moving his hands into a prayer position. Kate has scaled down her public appearances since she announced in March she had been diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis came after she underwent a major abdominal surgery in January. “At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” she said in a video posted in March. “The surgery was successful.
