Happy anniversary, Kate Middleton and Prince William!
Today marks Kate Middleton and Prince William’s nine-year wedding anniversary. The royal couple memorably tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London back in 2011, beginning their joint adventures as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Since then, the duo has travelled the world, embarking on many royal tours in countries across the world, including Canada, India, and New Zealand. They have taken a refined approach to couple style along the way, one which has only gotten better over the years.
The Duke and Duchess’s shared aesthetic came into focus the very day they announced their engagement November of 2010. For their portrait, Middleton wore a dark blue Issa wrap dress to match the sapphire engagement ring once belonging to Princess Diana. Prince William complemented her dress in a smart navy suit with a burgundy tie.
Between the busy schedule of royal engagements and their current duties as parents to three lovely children—Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte—the pair somehow still manage to remain impeccably dressed for joint appearances. The Duke will choose smart suiting as a counterpoint to Middleton’s vibrant frocks. On royal tours, Middleton will often wear labels originating from the country the couple is visiting, as shewas a thoughtful gesture.
