'Teeny' is based on the life of Tierna McMullan who passed away in 2020 at just age 22-years-old
Northern Ireland's first Down Syndrom model Kate Grant is the star of an upcoming short film set to premiere this month.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Emmet said he was inspired to first write the short film after a comment his sister made about Tierna in the months following her death. "It was after a comment made by my other sister Aine months after Tierna passed that ‘there would be enough stories about Tierna to make a film’, that I wrote the script."
He continued: "The premise of the film is Teeny’s positive impact on her family before and after her passing and is a film everyone can relate to, as its key themes centre around family, loss, and love. Kate said that being cast in her first acting role was "in a girl's dream" and is so excited to be able to share Tierna's story with the world.
