'It's a waiting game'
Kate Garraway has shared an update on her husband Derek as he remains in hospital following a battle with coronavirus.
The TV presenter has returned to her job on Good Morning Britain, where she updated viewers on Monday morning about how her husband of 15 years is continuing to battle the effects of Covid-19.Speaking on the show alongside fellow presenter Adil Ray, the 53 year old said she didn’t want to “upset” viewers by discussing her husband’s illness every week.
"Then last week we were having fun and games and I was laughing but he is in a minimal conscious state. He has challenges with his food with and with his lungs, and it's a waiting game really.Adil then praised his colleague for being so brave in light of Derek’s situation. Kate Garraway Adil said: "You have truly inspiring and you say there about you were laughing last week and having a few laughs today but it's important to have that you have kids you've got to have hope."Derek had contracted the virus back in March and was later rushed to intensive care, where he was put into a coma.
Kate subsequently took time off from the show, before returning in July when she revealed Derek is showing improvements on his road to recovery.
