Kate Garraway was surrounded by her on-screen and off-screen family as she received her MBE yesterday .
The GMB presenter was awarded the MBE by Prince William as a proud Derek Draper watched on from his wheelchair nearby. He was pictured at the ceremony in a blue suit and striped tie with a smile from ear to ear. Former political lobbyist Derek, 55, has become one of the worst living cases of Covid-19 after contracting the virus in March 2020 and was hospitalised for 13 months as a result. Since catching coronavirus, the Chorley dad has faced numerous health issues as he continues to slowly recover from its impact.But now, Kate has received an MBE. After being presented with the award, she enjoyed a meal with her family as well as some of her co-stars including Ranvir Singh and Ben Shepherd.
