White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed she has separated from her partner, Suzanne Malveaux.
In an interview published on Thursday, Jean-Pierre, 49, discussed her breakup with the former CNN national correspondent, which includes a co-parenting agreement, as the two share an adopted daughter.“I’m a single mom who is co-parenting this amazing kid,” Jean-Pierre said. “Our No. 1 priority is her privacy and to make sure we create an environment that’s nurturing.
Malveaux, 56, quit CNN in January due to what she called a"heartfelt decision to put myself and my family first and to pursue my long-desired professional passions" in a letter to co-workers. Malveaux had worked there since 2002 and even switched away from covering politics while her then-partner was in the post of press secretary.
Jean-Pierre has been the White House press secretary since May 2022, after serving as former press secretary Jen Psaki's deputy secretary.
