As it searches to find the successor to Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent P. Scribner, the Board of Education has named Karen C. Molinar interim superintendent as Scribner’s Aug. 31 retirement nears.
Molinar earned an associate degree in early childhood development, bachelor's degree from Salisbury State University in Maryland, master of education administration from Tarleton State University and is currently working on her doctorate of education.
When trustees select a lone finalist for the superintendent role, a 21-day waiting period will follow as required by Texas law. In the past, Molinar has served as the superintendent’s chief of staff, where she assisted the district leadership team and directed special projects. For 24 years, she’s held many leadership positions within the Fort Worth ISD system. Molinar has gone from being a classroom teacher to assistant principal, principal, executive director, assistant superintendent and chief of elementary schools.
