The Kansas City Chiefs release a new Christmas short film starring players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs are spreading Christmas cheer with a new Claymation short film , A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry, featuring some of their star players. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are among the players starring in the 90-second film, along with Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco, George Karlaftis, and Trent McDuffie. This follows the team's full-length Christmas film, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, which premiered last month on the Hallmark Channel .
The Chiefs are having a successful season, aiming for a third consecutive Super Bowl win. They secured their playoff spot after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday and are participating in a historic NFL and Netflix experiment to broadcast two games live on Christmas Day. The Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m., while the Houston Texans take on the Baltimore Ravens later in the day. The short film starts with a football bouncing and tasks the players with saving Christmas by bringing a busy family together around a Chiefs game, inspiring them to believe in their dreams and the magic of the season. Lara Krug, the Chief Media and Marketing Officer for the Chiefs, said, 'Christmas is such a magical time, and our team was looking for a way to deliver something special for all of Chiefs Kingdom before our Christmas Day game streaming worldwide on Netflix.
