WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, plans to spend election night at her alma mater, Howard University in Washington, D.C., according to three people familiar with the planning. One source said the campaign is likely to hold its election night event in the Quad, though the exact location on campus could change.
Harris' roots at the historically Black college run deep. In a letter published this month by The Hilltop, the school's student newspaper, Harris recalled 'so many fond memories' from when she attended the university, which she referred to by its nickname 'The Mecca.' 'I recognize my time at Howard shaped me into the person I am today.
