Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois made a surprise appearance at the Democratic national convention, drawing huge cheers from the crowd as she vowed to defeat Donald Trump.
Ms Harris had been expected to appear later with Joe Biden, the keynote speaker on Monday. She will formally accept the nomination on Thursday. “Together, we’ve put a lot of cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling,” she said, with Ms Clinton referring to her failed 2016 attempt at the US presidency.
