Vice President Kamala Harris has retaken the lead against former President Donald Trump in a major poll two weeks before Election Day.According to a tracking poll by TIPP Insights, which was rated as the most accurate pollster by The Washington Post in 2020, Harris has a 2-point lead over Trump, with 49 percent support to his 47 percent.Harris was leading the tracking poll throughout last week by up to 4 points.
If Trump wins all the states he's expected to win, he would need 51 more Electoral College votes from battleground states, and if he wins Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, that would give him 62 more electoral votes and the presidency, even if he does not win the popular vote.In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote by 4.5 points but won the presidency because of strength in the battleground states. At the time, most polls overestimated support for Democrat Hillary Clinton.
