Vice President Kamala Harris has closed the gap on Donald Trump in the historically red state of Texas, according to a poll.An ActiVote survey of 400 likely voters in the Lone Star State showed that Trump leads the Democratic Party's 2024 candidate by 6.6 points . The poll was conducted between July 31 and August 13, and the results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
Former Texas congressman Beto O'Rourke, who narrowly lost the 2018 Texas Senate election to Ted Cruz in a fiercely competitive race, recently told MSNBC: 'I can tell you, in Texas, which Barack Obama lost by 16 points in 2012, Hillary Clinton lost by nine points in 2016, and Joe Biden only lost by percent in 2020, this is really the sleeper battleground state.
